Kew Extension

To one of the oldest houses AtelierWest have worked on (early c18), we gained permission for a contemporary lightweight timber-framed addition to the ground floor, for an enlarged kitchen dining room.

This involved careful consultation with London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames’ heritage team, who supported our arguments that not all Listed Building additions need to be a glass box or pastiche of the existing building. The new extension clearly delineates old and new but with a well-insulated sustainable timber-first design.

We also undertook landscaping design to the adjacent garden space so it would blend seamlessly with the interior. All with Victoria Wootton Interiors, who was also the client.
