This ongoing project is the first longevity home of its kind in London. AtelierWest consulted on the purchase of the property for a private developer, providing in-depth feedback on the building and its potential prior to purchase.

The property had been heavily modified in the mid 1960s and was in need of a full renovation and reconfiguration. We were also working under the very strict guidelines of a MAVI longevity home specification. MAVI works at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and human biology to actively support health and extend healthspan.

We decided to flip the house upside down to accentuate the vast 4.5m pitched ceiling heights and allow for maximising natural light within the living room.

We have created a vast amount of additional space by way of a basement, however due to the level changes to the rear of the property, the basement rooms have full size windows, flooding the ‘basement’ level with light.

A wellness room with sauna and plunge pool provide a calm space within the house, a circadian lighting system follows the natural 24 hours cycle of the sun and a moodsonic sound system that uses generative, nature inspired audio to optimize indoor environments.
